Paratransit – the dedicated public transport
Transportation service can be granted to people with physical or mental disabilities under the transportation service.
Paratransit in Trelleborg
Paratransit is a special public transport concerning transportation service, care travel and medical travel.
Paratransit is a form of public transport and not a regular taxi.
All transportation service based on carpooling.
You can get transportation service if you have:
- great difficulties to go by public transport and / or
- great difficulties in moving to bus stop
- a continuing need for at least 6 months
To apply for the transportation service may be addressed transportation service officer at the Agency.
When granted transportation service you will receive a travel card service that lasts for more than 5 years. To extend the card and avoid unnecessary inconvenience to you, you should contact the transportation service officer to 1 month before the card expires.
When to use transportation service
The municipality manages and is responsible for special transport journeys. Transportation service is used eg for travel to:
- work
- daytime activities
- matters of various types, hair and foot care
- visits to relatives and friends
- activities
Transportation service will not be used to treat friendly trips medical travel but transportation service card must be presented to the driver at the hospital trip.
The number of trips is unlimited but special transport permit shall only be used when necessary. The transportation service trip after purchase, you may only take with you the equivalent of two bags.
Färdtjänsten in Trelleborg is available between the hours. 06:00 and 24:00.
